The off season is a perfect time to switch up your training programs and work on elements that aren't being addressed during in-season play. During the competitive season my athletes use neuromuscular training techniques which I call High TripleXity to maximize their speed, athleticism and efficiency of movement. In the off season we want to switch up the training stimulus and challenge the body in a different way which I call LoadXplode. For some athletes we want to use this non competitive time to put on some muscle and size. I call these MEAT workouts. You may be thinking meathead workouts and you wouldn't be too far off. But, in this case, MEAT stands for something entirely different.
M- Muscle/Meal E- Eccentric A- Adaptation T- Tension/Time
